Important Italian cabinet
Reference
217340
A wonderful example of an Italian Ebony, hard stone, ormolu, and rock crystal table cabinet.
The two doors open to reveal a superb architectural facade with pedimented niches containing ormolu classical figures with rock crystal columns to either side. These open to reveal a hidden bank of drawers.
The front is profusely inlaid with hard stones and solid ebony ripple mouldings.
A similar example from the same workshop is illustrated in the Drumfries House sale catalogue although it is listed as Flemish.
