This Augsburg silver-mounted tortoiseshell, ivory and ebony cabinet has a wonderfully embellished front with a brokenarched pediment flanked by silver figures of Night and Day after Michelangelo, above a hexagonal niche with an ivory and ebony chequered floor. The drawer fronts and the sides are mounted with pierced and cast silver reliefs of landscapes and classical adventures.
