A rare late 19th century giant gilt brass carriage clock. The classical design of the case with arched pediment and columns is said to be inspired by the 'Madeleine' Paris.
The movement with hour and half hour striking, repeating hours and alarm, with a large jewelled platform escapement. The white enamel dial set in a silvered mask behinf bevelled glass which is continued around the case.
